With GDC Europe Session Scheduler, you can build your schedule in advance and access it during the show via export or with the GDC Europe Mobile App. Sessions do fill up, so please arrive early to sessions that you would like to attend. Adding a session to your schedule does not guarantee you a seat.

Learn to perform miracles by utilizing a state of the art game backend that's simple in its design and leverages Service Fabric, an Actor Model based software framework on Azure, and distributed systems that won't add unnecessary complexity to existing monolithic counterparts and add the peace of mind of disaster recovery and scalability. Topics covered include software design and common pitfalls to avoid.
Attendees will learn how to leverage the actor model with Service Fabric. Participants are given clear examples of the game related features in an actor system, as well as common pitfalls. The knowledge conveyed will inspire the audience in developing actor based game features optimized for distributed, survivable systems.
Audience members should have some years experience in software development. Distributed system development and cloud based software engineering knowledge is recommended but not required to benefit from this talk. Multiplayer game developer will benefit the most from this presentation, and anyone involved with DevOps will gain insight into actor systems.
Welcome! You can use the Session Scheduler tool to browse sessions and build a custom event schedule. Once you've saved your personal schedule, you can access it from the free GDC Europe Mobile app (available approximately 30 days before the event). Note: use the same login/password on the Mobile app that you set up on this web site.
Step 1. Create an account. Use the "Create Account" button at the top of the right-hand corner.
Step 2. Choose a view. Select either the "List" or the "Grid" icon. (It's the same data, just a different view of the sessions.)
Step 3. Choose your sessions. Click the "Add" or "Remove" button next to each session to add it to, or remove it from, your personalized schedule.
Step 4. Review your schedule. Push the "My Schedule" button in the left column to view your selected sessions.
