It is a joint effort of 'EVE Online', MMOS and the Human Protein Atlas to bring real life science into major computer games as a seamless gaming experience. It is the first serious game implemented inside a AAA video game.

'Project Discovery' was launched in February 2016 and it became an instant success. In the first two weeks of the project players have analysed 5 million images through the in-game interface. Come and hear about the challenges we faced during the last two years while creating 'Project Discovery'.

    Takeaway

We will introduce Project Discovery and Massively Multiplayer Online Science as a concept, and how it was possible to successfully implement such a feature with so many diverse participants. Also how to manage the leap of faith- to let a 3rd party serve content directly to your player community.

    Intended Audience

Anybodywho wants to discover the enormous and yet unused possibilities in video games as a means to address real life problems is welcome. #citizenscience #seriousgames
