GDC Europe 2016 Schedule

View, browse and sort the ever-growing list of GDC Europe sessions by pass type, track, and format. With GDC Europe Session Scheduler, you can build your schedule in advance and access it during the show via export or with the GDC Europe Mobile App. Sessions do fill up, so please arrive early to sessions that you would like to attend. Adding a session to your schedule does not guarantee you a seat.

    Patrick Moechel graduated at the SAE Institute Munich in 2008. He started his industry career as a 3d Artist at Crytek, located in Frankfurt am Main. There he worked on Redemption and the CryEngine3 GDC 2012 tech demo- showing the CryEngine3 on next-gen consoles in public for the first time, as well as on the international acclaimed Crysis 2, Crytek's multi-platform début released on PC, Xbox360 and Playstation3. Subsequently he started working for Guerrilla Games Amsterdam, a Sony Computer Entertainment Studio. There he worked on Killzone 3 DLC and Killzone: Shadowfall- Sony's exclusive Playstation4 launch title. He also contributed to Horizon: Zero Dawn's preproduction.

    Patrick's spent over six years in the industry, working as a 3d and Environment Artist on multible AAA titles, tech demos and reproductions, allowing him to gather deep insights into processes and structures in games development. He is experienced on all major platforms such as PC, Xbox, Playstation, iOS and Android. On the software side he worked with CryEngine, Unity3D, UDK and SCE inhouse SDKs. Tools wise he is proficient Autodesk Maya, 3D Studio Max, The Foundry Modo and all major 2d and 3d texturing solutions.

    Since 2014 he works for the SAE Institute Hamburg as Head Instructor Game Art, being responsible for planning, strategical decisions, advise and of course, regular teaching. In his efforts to combine the latest technology into efficient and fluent game content creation pipelines, he became Modo Authorized Trainer by The Foundry in 2015.
